Official Appointments in Nanchang...

Monday Sept. 3rd

Today we wrapped up all of the official paperwork to make Emily legally ours according to China. We had 3 different appointments at 3 different places.

The first stop was at the Registration Office, this is was where we were interviewed by a registration officer who asked us if we would love, care for and provide an education for Emily. I think you can guess what our answer was! It is here were were given our "red book" with the adoption certifcate and our official family picture. The registration officer also gave us a gift of a porcelain glass for Emily. The cup has pictures of children on the front and Chinese writing on the back.

Our next 2 stops were at the Notary Office, where we were also interviewed again. And then at the Public Security Office where Emily's picture was taken for her Chinese passport.  We should receive the complete Notary documents on Thursday and her passport on Friday.

The rest of the day was spent playing in our room and getting to know Emily better.
