We are in Hong Kong...

Friday August 31st

We are in Hong Kong and settled into our room for the night. The trip from Florida was long but thankfully uneventful. We were fortunate enough to have some extra space during the flight which allowed us to spread out a little. Not sure why I thought the seats on International flights would be larger but we quickly found out that they're really not so the extra space was really nice.

We met up with Josh & Kelly Foote in Chicago and were on the same flight to Hong Kong. We are the only 2 families in our travel group. It was nice to finally met them in person after talking for awhile on FaceBook. Once we landed we were met outside of the baggage claim by Matt, our CCAI guide, and driven directly to the hotel. The ride over was nice, The night sky was filled with lights from the bridges and high rises. Matt was telling us about the size and cost of apartments here, it is astronomical for tiny spaces!

Tomorrow we have a free day but are keeping it low key so we can be rested for the big day. We will head over to the New Town Plaza mall that surrounds the hotel and maybe check out Victoria Peak.

It's hard to believe that we will finally be able to touch and hold our girl on Sunday! It will be a day of many firsts but most importantly it will be the first day we will be a family of 3 ;0)

That's it for now...goodnight from China!

From Nothing to Ninety...

The last few days have been a whirlwind of activity. On Monday we received our Travel Approval (China's permision for us to enter the country), "gotcha day'" date and tentative consulate appointment. Tuesday our Consulate appointment was confirmed for 9/12. Next step was to frantically try to make travel arrangements and get things worked out at work.

Travel arrangements, insurance, packing and preparing work for my long absence was next. It has been a crazy non-stop week and a half but we're finally ready to go. Emily we are coming!
